The Friday Night Reception

Enjoyed informal venue to meet folks as we never met other members in person prior to this meeting.  Formal show-n-tell is good venue for new members to introduce themselves.

The convention and visiting was, as usual, very enjoyable.  The refreshments were disappointing and might be omitted in the future to safe some money.

We enjoyed it.  Seeing pictures of the advanced collections, etc. and meeting the members with much more knowledge/experience than ourselves.  It was hard to talk with everyone in the time allocated and perhaps the "chair layout" hindered mixing a little.

The Lithophane Museum

Enjoyed very much!  We had tried to see the museum before but were not a group of ten.

Lots of fun, laid back, no pressure, great personable auctioneer, good activity….and fortunate could get quality consignments.  Consider holding closer to banquet or?  Need either less or more time between activities.

The Hotel

Attentive and accommodating staff, good food.  Renovations in progress but to be expected.  Some smoke issues in non-smoking rooms.

Adequate but badly in need of renovation, however, many of us do not want to pay for fancy hotels.

I have a lifetime of experience staying in similar hotels at government rates (same as our group rate).  This was obviously an older facility but other than the musty smell, seemed clean.  The staff and service was good.  I think they are doing their best.  Food and restaurant were excellent.  We were satisfied but room could have been better.  We would have paid a little more for a nicer facility.

Suggestions for locations for future meetings:

• Corning N.Y.  

Corning isn't exactly the crossroads of America, but an unequalled opportunity for learning

• Norfolk, VA. 

The Chrysler Museum is an excellent learning opportunity.

Suggestions for topics and/or speakers:
 

• Members who are especially expert in one or several makers, designs, etc.

• Speakers from the Museum

Volunteers to assist in planning next meeting:
 

• The "logistic arrangers" need to be relatively close to their home.

Any other comments about the meeting?
 

• Much appreciation for all of their efforts and devotion to offer this venue for personal contact and friendship among members.

• I would have liked to see more room sales.  Other than that, I totally enjoyed the meeting.

• It seems that our two meetings to date have been exclusively "mature adults".  If we want to seek to attract "younger members" (assuming that we have a fair number of them) we need to know the reason a majority of members the majority of members say they could attend.

• Outstanding knowledge base.   As a novice collector, the level of expertise helps me to learn more about the fairy lamps I have acquired.

• Everything was good.  Enjoyed everyone and offer our appreciation and thanks.  It would be difficult to improve upon.

• Perhaps another activity on Saturday or an organized field trip.  Not enough to do.

• We had a great time and enjoyed meeting so many friendly people.  I appreciated the casual, relaxed pace and good sense of humor. Thanks to the organizers for all the hard work they did.  Fine job.  Thanks for the extra raffle prize.   That was a very pleasant surprise!
