Jimmy & Patsy's "Ongoing" Adventure
Firewood 101
As you all know, it is cold in Colorado. Nearly everyone who lives in the mountains has a fireplace, wood stove, pellet stove, etc to supplement their heating. We have a wood burning fireplace......and you know what that means. You are constantly on the hunt for cheap firewood. Sometimes, what you save in money, you spend in other ways.
Following is our latest firewood "adventure".

BIG truck with a BIG load
of firewood.

The logs are 16 feet long
and there are a LOT of
them.

Of course, every project
has a supervisor.

Well, the truck is gone
and the logs are
here....now what?

You cut them into little
pieces and stack them
neatly in a pile.

They look kinda neat, all
stacked up and ready to
burn.

Not quite. They
need to be split and
stacked.

This is the last day of
splitting. As you
can see, there is still
much work to be done.

All done. Stacked
and ready for the snow to
arrive.

The wood was sold as 6
cords. After
splitting and stacking, I
actually got closer to 7
cords.
I'm happy......tired and sore, but happy. Would I do it again? Probably not......but, I'm a slow learner.
Oh yeah, I almost forgot. Patsy was right by my side for the whole "adventure". What a gal!
